Stella Maris is situated in the centre of town at about 100m from the tram stop 'De Haan aan Zee'. It's a 7 minute walk to the beach, as to the restaurants ranging from snack bar to gastronomic restaurant.
From De Haan, you can easily reach Ostend and Blankenberge (12 km), Knokke (30 km) and Bruges (20km). The entire Belgian coastline can be reached by tram.
Bruges can be reached by tram and train via Ostend or Blankenberge or directly by bus.
The surrounding area is quite diverse, the 'polders' are excellent for biking. The woods and the beach offer beatiful hiking possibilities and the nearby cities have plenty of museums, attractions and great historical value.
